Our Story: From a Journey to a Purpose
It Started with a Single Journey.
In 2009, a journey back to our homeland in East Nusa Tenggara changed everything. Amidst breathtaking landscapes, we saw the unseen – the struggles of its people, the fading traditions, and the need for sustainable livelihoods.
As individuals with agricultural roots, we knew we had to act. We began by returning each year, conducting training on organic farming and skill-building programs for the weavers – mothers, or as we call them, Mama. From there, Lafaina was born: a home for heritage, empowerment, and sustainability.
